The project namely  Centre For Disability Sports at Gwalior (MP) is an initiative by The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disability, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, which plans to establish a state of the art international level centre of excellence at Gwalior-Morena Highway near Village Swej for sports for the persons with disabilities to provide them with the training facilities at par with the latest in the world to enable them to effectively compete and win medals in Paralympics, Deaflympics, Special Olympics and other international events. 

The site is spread across 34 acres housing facilities for all the sports as well as a hostel for children and ample parking space for visitors and residents with All the entries, exits, as well as the other facilities on the property are disable friendly.

The centre is primarily divided into 4 areas, namely:

Outdoor sports, Indoor sports, Aquatic centre, Hostel building and Additional Facilities
